Mwingi - A 27-year-old man who was nursing bullet wounds sustained in a carjacking and shooting ordeal has been shot dead in his hospital bed.

Ngandi Malia Musyemi was receiving treatment at the Mwingi level 4 hospital when he met his death.

Standard reports that Musyemi was ambushed by an unidentified gunman who shot him 17 times then fled.

The patient had survived another shooting inside his car Wednesday evening, only to be shot dead in his hospital bed Thursday morning.

This is not the first patient to be shot dead in a hospital.

Last year, a cancer patient was shot dead at the Kenyatta National Hospital and his eyes gorged out.

The 42-year-old man was also from Mwingi.
