Businessman linked to KES 8B Karen land grabbing dies

Nairobi - A businessman at the centre of the KES 8 billion land grabbing syndicate in Karen Nairobi has died.
Horaitus Da Gama Rose, the tycoon linked to Muchanga Investments which is embroiled in a court dispute over the parcel of died on Friday morning while seeking treatment in Nairobi.
According to The Star, Horaitus was the brother of the late renowned Kenyan lawyer and businessman Mirabeau Humberto Da Gama Rose.
His brother was the late President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta’s lawyer and associate.
Rose was at the centre of a dispute involving a 134-acre parcel of land in Karen worth Sh8 billion.

His company had sued a total of eight parties claiming ownership of the land.
The Daily Nation reported that the Da Gama Rose family has links to the high and mighty in Kenya.
Da Gama Rose Group’s interest in business ranges from information technology to tourism, floriculture, financial services, garment manufacturing, printing and packaging, and real estate. They also have interests in Maisha Plc, and Maisha International Ltd.
They are linked to the Commercial Bank of Africa CBA, which also has links to the Kenyatta family.
