Missing Nairobi lawyer killed, body dumped in a river

Machakos - Police have found a body believed to be of the missing Nairobi lawyer, Willie Kimani, in Ol Donyo Sabuk River.
A second body believed to be that of his driver, Joseph Muiruri was also retrieved on Friday morning.
According to Daily Nation, Kimani's client, Josephat Mwenda’s body slipped back into the river but efforts to retrieve it are ongoing.
The three went missing on June 23 after leaving Mavoko Law Courts where Mwenda was facing charges of possessing narcotics.
On Thursday, lawyers staged demos asking police to release the three after evidence emerged that Mwenda had been framed by a policeman.

The Inspector General of Police later released a statement confirming the recovery of the vehicle the three were using when they went missing.
“On 24th June, 2016 at around 1.45am, the Taxi driver was traced at Kamirithu in Limuru. Following this development, investigations were commenced by the DCI where several people have recorded statements.
“In the event, that a crime is disclosed linking any person, whether a police Officer or otherwise, the law will doubtless take its own course,” read a statement.
The IG has already ordered the immediate arrest of three police officers linked to the kidnapping of the three.
