6 lions escape from Nairobi National Park

Nairobi - Six lions have escaped from the Nairobi National Park, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has said.

A lioness and her newborn cubs are said to be among the pride on the loose.

According to Daily Nation, the lions were spotted near Lang'ata Hospital around 4am.

KWS said they are already searching for the lions, and asked Kenyans to report any suspicious animal via 0800221566 or 0800597000.

They announced: "Our team has been has been on ground since 3 am to ensure that the issue is contained and the Lions are safely back."
