Anne Waiguru summoned over Sh180 million fraud case

11 March 2016, 13:29

Nairobi - Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary, Anne Waiguru was summoned by the House Committee over the Sh180 million fraud case at the Youth Enterprise Development Fund (YEDF), reports Standard Media.

Former Planning Principle Secretary, Peter Mangiti was also called before the National Assembly Public Investment Committee (PIC).

The two are being summoned after YEDF Chairman, Bruce Odhiambo on Thursday gave irregular instructions and copied the both of them.

The two are suspected of allegedly breaching financial and procurement laws while also abusing their power of office.

Odhiambo is also being targeted after MPs said that he was enjoying the benefits of ‘super’ chairman when he is not an executive.

Head of Civil Service Joseph Kinyua was also then brought into the hot pot when he was accused.

Mps have accused Kinyua of attempting to evade the parliamentary oversight process after it turned out that he wrote to the Inspectorate of State Corporations to represent the State Corporations Advisory Committee CEO)/Secretary Jane Mugambi, arguing that the council's term expired last month and its role was just advisory.
