Mombasa - Police have discovered that the Al Shabaab group is now recruiting underage minors in a Mombasa children's home.
The revelation was made by four young recruits who were arrested in Garissa on their way to Somalia early this year.
The Star reports that the recruits are aged between three and 15 years, and drawn from the Mijikenda, Somali and Bajuni communities.
Further reports indicate that the orphanage has about 80 pupils, and charges only KES 500 per term with the poorest studying for free.
The boys are lured with promises of money, cars and wives.
