AG Githu Muigai wants general election held in 2018

Nairobi - Attorney General Githu Muigai now wants the next general election held in 2018 instead of next year.
According to the AG, this will allow proper adequate preparation especially considering that the electoral body is currently undergoing reforms and facing a possible reconstitution.
The next general election is scheduled for August 8.

According to The Star, Muigai says the only way the country can have a credible election is by ensuring that an electoral body is in place 24 months prior.
All the nine commissioners are facing removal from office over credibility and integrity issues.
