Woman to pay KES 3K monthly upkeep for husband

Kakamega - A woman who failed to take care of her children after separating from her husband has been ordered to pay KES 3000 monthly upkeep for her husband and their children.
The woman, Roselyne Muyonga, risks spending five years behind bars or a KES 200,000 fine if she fails to pay the upkeep money, Daily Nation reports.
Kakamega County Children’s Officer Dishon Otuko said it was not right for men to suffer with children after being left by their wives and those who do so should be held responsible and be involved in the upkeep of the children.
Otuko said both partners should bear the brunt of the marriage break-up, instead of leaving it to one person.
