Woman denies testifying against Ruto at The Hague

19 September 2013, 12:28

Eldoret - A woman whose picture has been circulating on the social media identifying her as the first witness who testified against Deputy President William Ruto says she is not the one who testified against the DP.

According to Rehab Muthoni, it would not have been possible for her to jet back into the country in less than 24 hours after testifying at The Hague, The Standard reports.

She said that she had asked her friend to take the picture so that she could use it as her profile picture on facebook, but was later informed that it was being circulated on social media with the witness tag on it.

She recorded a statement with the police in Eldoret, but she fears for her life saying that she might be harmed by the sympathizers of the perpetrators of the 2007/8 post election violence.
