Woman Rep accuses MP of sexual harassment

Nairobi - Taita Taveta County Woman Representative Joyce Lay has accused a fellow male MP of sexual harassment.
According to Lay, the first time MP who hails from Rift Valley region manhandled her in her hotel room in Japan, where they had travelled with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Lay is said to have informed her colleagues of what happened through an internal platform used by the Mps for communication, The Standard reported.
The MPs have a Whatsapp group that aids internal communication.

She alleges that the MP called her useless after she refused to give in to his sexual demands and that she has since reported the matter to the relevant authorities for action to be taken.
The matter comes just a few weeks after Juja MP Francis Waititu was implicated in a sex scandal after he sacked a personal assistantr who refused to get intimate with him.
And over the weekend, Imenti Central MP Gideon Mwiti has been accused by a female journalist of raping her in his Nairobi office.
