09 September 2014, 09:46
Nairobi - A witness who admitted that he gave false statements in the trail against Deputy President and Joshua Sang has been declared hostile by the International Criminal Court’s Trial Chamber.
The declaration was made following a second application by the prosecution lawyer Anton Steynberg.
Steynberg had made a similar application last week but it was rejected by the Chamber because it was premature, The Standard reports.

Witness number 604, who testified via video link from Nairobi, admitted that he had lied about his evidence against Ruto because of his hatred for the Deputy President.
He said that even though he admitted that he had lied, he was told that he was okay and that he would be given goodies, a nice life, and school for his children and asylum in a different country.
