Witness claims ‘White widow’ shot at her

25 September 2013, 13:09

Nairobi - One of the victims who survived the Westgate Mall siege has said that an AK47-wielding “pale-skinned woman” with long dark hair - the same as British Muslim convert Lewthwaite - locked eyes with her as she cowered beneath a box before opening fire from a balcony.

According to IOL News, the shop worker who gave her name as Caroline, escaped unharmed as the Al-Shabaab attackers stormed the Westgate Mall, but narrates that the lady attacker was high up but not far from her, and the minute she laid her eyes on her started shooting towards her but amazingly missed injuring her.

Caroline was then able to jump and run away when the 'white widow' paused momentarily from her shooting spree.

So far the authorities have said that they have received numerous accounts from witnesses of a female attacker resembling the widow of 7/7 bomber Jermaine Lindsay, although the authorities are yet to confirm her identity.
