Nairobi - Parliament’s Majority Leader Aden Duale has once again been put on the spot over the remarks he made on terrorism in a video that was captured in Nairobi's Eastleigh area.
In the video, Duale is captured telling the people carrying out terror attacks in Eastleigh to do it elsewhere because they were hurting businesses that are run by local traders, Daily Nation reports.
He goes ahead to say that Kenyan Somalis’ economy is based in Eastleigh since they have invested their money in businesses in the area.
He vowed to continue to fight for the rights of the Somali community in Kenya, despite opposition from the government.
Last week he said he would not mind breaking ranks with the Jubilee government over the continuing crackdown aimed at members of the Somali community in Nairobi and Mombasa.
He insisted that he would not take the matter lightly and that he is going to do his utmost to protect his people from the ongoing crackdown by the police.
The government has however vowed to continue with the incursions, saying that they have sufficient evidence to prove that there are terror cells in the aforementioned places.
