Video drags Raila into ICC cases
11 September 2013, 12:35
The Hague - Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s name was on Tuesday mentioned in the cases that are on-going at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
In a video clip played by Deputy President William Ruto’s lawyer, the Cord leader was seen calling on Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) supporters to take to the streets for mass action after the electoral commission announced the results of the 2007 presidential election, The Standard reports.
However, it was not established whether the video was played to drag Raila into the cases or to prove that ODM called for peaceful countrywide protests.
Raila’s name was also mentioned at the ICC during the hearing of confirmation of charges against President Kenyatta in 2011. President Kenyatta, the then Deputy Prime Minister, sort to link Raila to the cases saying that his call for mass action instigated the violence.
