VIDEO: Dropped ICC witnesses say they were trained

12 September 2013, 14:06

Nairobi - Two former witnesses who were dropped from the trial against Deputy President William Ruto and former radio presenter Joshua Sang have revealed that they were trained to give false evidence against the two.

According to the witnesses, they were coached by the Office of the Prosecutor (OTP) and were told not to use such words as ‘tried’, ‘really’, ‘recall’, ‘all I can say’, ‘sometimes’ and ‘I believe so’, when being cross-examined in order to convince the judges, Capital News reports.

One of the witnesses, Samuel Kosgei, said they were cautioned against scratching their noses, touching their ears, faces or neck and even hesitating when being cross-examined to make judges believe what they were saying was true.

Watch the revelation on the below Capital News video on youtube.
