13 December 2011, 16:20
Nairobi - News just in from Capital News, indicate that there was a fresh standoff between the government and doctors on Tuesday, after the medics declared they were still on strike, despite the deal that had been negotiated.
They said consultants who had been working to fill the gap left during the strike had also now joined the industrial action.
The contentious deal was thrashed out in a closed-door meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and attended by Ministry of Health officials from 3pm until late on Monday.
