University students to block roads in protests

Nairobi - Students from all public universities in the country plan to stage mass protests over increased fees.
In Nairobi, UoN students plan to block all major highways leading to town, The Standard reports. As a result, transport activities along University Way, Kikuyu Road, Thika Superhighway, Parklands and Moi Avenue might be paralysed.
The students are demanding that the Education Cabinet Secretary, Jacob Kaimenyi slash University fees by half and also facilitate the increment of study loans from the current cap of KES 60 000.
