Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta will not be attending the 68th United Nations general assembly as his deputy is still away, the State House announced on Friday, CapitalFM reports.
In a statement issued by the presidents spokesperson, Manoah Esipisu, UN secretary general Ban Ki-Moon has already been informed.
This will be the first time in 50 years that a Kenyan leader will miss the meeting, and the reason is the fact that the deputy president William Ruto is still in The Hague, where he is standing trial.
