21 June 2013, 10:03
Nairobi - The Standard reports President Uhuru Kenyatta has said that government is committed to ensure that Kenyans get basic necessities at affordable prices.
Speaking on Thursday during the National Prayer Day, Uhuru said all possible measures were being taken by the government to reduce the cost of living and ensure basic necessities are affordable to all Kenyans.
The President's remarks comes just a week after Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich said the VAT Bill, which could increase the price of basic commodities, will be re-introduced in Parliament when he unveiled the Budget.
