Uhuru praises disciplined officers

Nairobi - Kenya’s disciplined officers have been praised for their devoted service to the nation.
Speaking during the annual joint prayer and thanksgiving service for disciplined service officers and their families at the Holy Family Minor Basilica, Nairobi, President Uhuru Kenyatta described the men and women as selfless public servants who continued to risk their lives in order to safeguard citizens and their property.
He said the Government remained committed to improvement of their remunerations among other terms and conditions of service.
Security forces have been criticized following reports that they looted during the rescue operation at the Westgate Mall in Nairobi.
Deputy President William Ruto admitted the incident terming it ‘unfortunate, however, President Kenyatta said nobody was perfect and urged the media to be responsible in reporting security related matters as national safety was paramount.
