Uhuru keeps a close eye on JKIA fire

Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta rushed to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport after learning that a fire had broken out in the airport’s arrivals terminal early on Wednesday.
According to several reports Kenyatta was briefed on the situation shortly after his arrival.
Dr Titus Naikuni, Group CEO and Managing Director of Kenya Airways, confirmed on the company’s Facebook page that all Kenya Airways staff and customers are Safe and there is no damage to the their aircrafts.
Several Kenya Airways flights were diverted to Mombasa and transit passengers will be accommodated in hotels in Nairobi.
According to a KTN report, access roads to the airport has been closed and only emergency personnel are allowed into the airport.
