Uhuru, Muthaura step aside

Nairobi – Finance Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and Head of
Civil Service Ambassador Francis Muthaura have bowed to pressure and
stepped aside from their portfolios following the ICC indictments.
A statement from the Presidential Press Service said Francis Kimemia
has been appointed in an acting capacity as the Head of Civil Service
and Secretary to the Cabinet while Metropolitan Minister Njeru Githae
will act as Finance Minister.
President Kibaki however said Kenyatta will retain the position of Deputy Prime Minister in accordance with the Constitution.
