UhuRuto yet to take the pledged 20pc pay cut

Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto are yet to take the 20 percent pay cut they pledged three months ago.
Officials from the Public Service Commission (PSC) and Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) said they had not reduced the salaries because Parliament was yet to amend the law that relates to the issue, Daily Nation reports.
In March, President Kenyatta announced that they would be taking a pay cut together with the entire cabinet in a move to reduce the public wage bill.
Ruto said the decision was hard to make but they had to consider other factors.
He said the high wage bill was a public fund guzzler and a threat to the country’s development and a measure had to be taken.
