Nairobi - Despite 68 people being killed in the Westgate mall terror attack on the 21st of September, the United States Senate supports President Uhuru Kenyatta’s decision not to pull Kenyan Defence Forces out of Somalia, Capital FM reports.
The US will continue to assist Kenya with its fight against the terrorist group, al-shabaab, who claimed responsibility for the Westgate attack. The US will gather intelligence on the terrorist outfit, which will assist Kenya in tackling al-shabaab from their base in Somalia.
The US values Kenya as an ally and this resolution is one way of stating in writing that the two countries will seek to bring down a common threat.
