Nairobi - The DPP has ordered police to investigate a UNEP employee who is accused of battering his ex wife and inflicting her with serious injuries on the head and face.
The man, identified as Alphonse Kambu is said to be a resident of Papua New Guinea who separated from the 23-year-old woman in 2012.
Photos leaked online early this week showed the swollen face of the 23-year-old wife, with reports indicating that her ex husband had smashed her head against the wall Sunday night over food.
He had just dropped their three-year-old son when he picked a quarrel over food, resulting in the assault.
The man is yet to face the law for his violent behavior as he claims to be enjoying immunity, something the UN office has denied.
The UN has also stepped in to help police with investigations with a view of bringing him to book.
