UK issues Kenya travel advice update

Nairobi - The United Kingdom Foreign and Commonwealth Office has changed its travel advice to Kenya.
It advised against all but essential travel to Mombasa Island and the surrounding area following recent terrorist attacks and the continuing terrorist threat in the area.
“The FCO advise against all but essential travel to Mombasa island and within 5km of the coast from Mtwapa creek in the north to Tiwi in the south. This area does not include Diani or Moi international airport.”
The Office said if United Kingdom nationals were currently in an area to which it now advised against all but essential travel they should consider whether they have an essential reason to remain.
"If not, you should leave the area. You can still access the Moi International Airport but we advise against travelling through Mombasa Island."
The office had previously warned against travelling to any part of the area.
