Nairobi - Troops could have to stay a bit longer than expected, extending the deadline that had been put up due to the on-going operations to root out Al-Shabaab, Daily Nation reports.
According to the report, the troops have, so far taken control of over 200 000 square kilometers.
So far, more than 3 000 Al-Shabaab members had been killed since last year, and their presence now was merely for peacekeeping.
