Transition Authority says devolution may collapse

Nairobi - The chairman of the Transition Authority, Kinuthia Wamwangi, has warned that devolution may collapse due to the salary dispute between the Members of
County Assemblies (MCA’s) and the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
Wamwangi said the dispute has to be solved quickly since it is
negatively affecteing service delivery in the devolved units, Daily Nation reports.
The MCA’s are have been demanding for a pay hike but SRC rejected
the demand with its chairperson, Sarah Serem saying they will have to re-evaluate
the MCA’s jobs before meeying fulfilling their demands.
They however condemned Serem, saying her commission was
frustrating them and misleading the general public into believing that they are
