Nairobi - Security has been beefed up outside Parliament with police officers patrolling the streets of Nairobi ahead of the MPs debate on the controversial security bill.
The opposition and human rights activists said they would hold a protest in the city against the bill that has drawn mixed reactions since its introduction in Parliament, Daily Nation reported.
Nine Western envoys on Wednesday called on Kenya to review the proposed anti-terrorism bill which aims to enhance surveillance on terrorists in the country.
They urged the MPs to take time to review carefully the bill and to consult broadly to build consensus.
