Salgaa - A father and his two children died on the spot after their vehicle collided head on with a Tanzanian Jeep at Salgaa black spot along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.
The kid’s mother, who was driving the vehicle survived the grisly accident and is recuperating at the Nakuru’s Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital.
Rongai OCPD, Johnston Karanga confirmed the incident saying that the family was headed to Nakuru from Eldoret when the accident occurred.
“The family was travelling from Eldoret towards Nakuru when their vehicle crushed with an oncoming Jeep with Tanzanian number plate leading to the death of the husband and two children on the spot with the wife sustaining injuries,” said Karanga.
Passengers on board the Jeep also sustained serious injuries, and the vehicles involved towed to Salgaa traffic police patrol base.
This comes a couple of weeks after the National Transports and Safety Authority (NTSA) donated a vehicle fitted with speed cameras to patrol the highway on a 24-hour basis in a bid to help curb accidents.
