Nairobi - Authorities at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) arrested three Turkish nationals, boarding a flight headed to Somalia with USD 350,000 (about KES 30 million) which they had not declared.
The three were boarding an East African Airlines flight leaving Nairobi at 6am, and claimed they work for the Red Cross in Turkey but could not explain why they had failed to declare the amount, Daily Nation reports.
Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), the Antiterrorism Police Unit and the National Intelligence Service (NIS) officers are interrogating the three, considering the recent terrorism attacks and security alerts.
