Three Navy officers fired after attending CORD rally

Mombasa - Three Kenya Navy officers were fired after they allegedly attended a political rally organized by the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy in Mombasa.
According to sources from the military, the three soldiers identified as Senior Sergeant John Apollo, Corporal George Ong’onyi and Corporal Ben Nyambok were spotted by intelligence officers who were covering the rally and took their photographs, The Star reports.
They are accused of contravening the military’s code of ethics by associating themselves with politics.
It is alleged that they were served with discharge letters and told to leave the Mutongwe Navy Barracks under tight security.
