Tension as PM gives his side

03 November 2011, 15:26

Nairobi - In his statement to Parliament on Wednesday afternoon, Prime Minister Raila Odinga sought to set the record straight over allegations of graft in the Kazi Kwa Vijana project, as he submitted documents to prove that no money was lost in the youth jobs programme, The Standard reports.

Before a highly charged full House, the Raila was held to task as hefielded questions from Saboti Mp Eugene Wamalwa and Ikolomani Mp Bonny Khalwale regarding their allegations that money had been misappropriated.

As other MPs weighed in on the issue before the house some obvious tension was present, and  required Speaker Kenneth Marende to step in several times to restore order and even forced some MPs to withdraw remarks that appeared to impute improper motives on colleagues.
