Ten killed as truck rams into six vehicles at Salgaa

Salgaa - Ten people were killed and scores of others injured when a truck that was transporting maize rammed into six vehicles along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway on Sunday.

Rongai police boss Joseph Mwamburi said the truck driver was unable to control the truck after its brakes failed and rammed into three matatus, two lorries and a saloon car, Daily Nation reports.

He said the truck driver was among those who perished on the spot when the fatal accident happened at 2pm.

Seven people perished and 18 others were injured a fortnight ago when the vehicle they were travelling in was involved in a road accident in Kericho County.

The fatal accident happened near Chagaik area, along Kericho-Nakuru highway.

It involved a saloon car and 14-seater minibus.

The driver of the saloon car which was heading to Kericho town lost control and collided with a Nissan matatu that heading to Nairobi.
