Teen dies hammering hand grenade

Mandera - A form two student died in Mandera after a hand grenade went off in his hands Sunday evening. The deceased was playing with the explosive in the company of his two brothers who were left with injuries during the incident.
Mandera East OCPD, Jackson Rotich, confirmed the incident saying that the three boys collected the two shiny objects suspected to be hand grenades from a graveyard on their way home from play, according to The Standard.
Rotich added that the explosives went off as the deceased, 15, hit them with a hammer to see the outcome while his siblings stood aside watching. Their parents were not at home at the time of the incident.
