Still no hope of pay for teachers

24 October 2015, 17:38

Nairobi -  The TSC is  yet to pay teachers' salaries for last month.

The TSC had declared that it would only pay teachers who worked during their September strike, who are estimated to be 42 973 in number.

County directors have therefore been directed to submit details of teachers who taught during the period but missed their pay so they can be compensated.

Still, there is no hope for the 245 000 teachers who missed their September salaries for participating in the 'unprotected' strike.

Teacher's payroll for October has already been finalised, but Standard reports that majority of them do not reflect last month's salary.
