Teachers welcome changes in teaching calendar

Nairobi - In a bid to cover the syllabus and make up for lost time following the teachers' s strike, the government has decided to extend the time in the education calendar.
Speaking to The Standard, the national chairman of Kenya Primary Schools Head teachers Association ( KEPSHA) Joseph Karuga said teachers are not feeling offended for the teaching time extended to recover the lost time before the national examinations later in the year.
The new calender was reached upon after a consultative meeting among between the different stakeholders in the education sector whereupon they reached a unanimous decision.
