Tanzania to deport 10 000 teachers, some Kenyans
13 September 2013, 21:00
Nairobi - Kenyan teachers who are currently based in Tanzania are among thousands facing deportation in that country, Daily Nation reports.
Tanzania is currently in a dire need for teachers, with only 13 657, a figure that runs way below the percentage that they require for the schools.
The education ministry however said some of the foreign teachers were in the country illegally, and would not be spared or given preferential treatment because the country is in need.
