Nairobi - The Standard reports teachers are worried about the loss of hardship allowances in some regions and a freeze on hiring and promotions by their employer.
Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) has already asked the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to reinstate hardship allowances in Taita Taveta, Nyambene and Kericho within 14 days and implement all pending promotions immediately.
According to the union, TSC made the decision without consulting them contrary to the law.
