TSC introduces new entry requirement for Primary school teachers
15 November 2013, 15:45
Nairobi - The Teachers Services Commission (TSC) has said that all Primary School teachers should obtain professional certification in order to retain their jobs.
The new requirement will also render P1 teachers jobless, according to The Standard. All Primary school teachers will be required to hold at least a two-year diploma in addition to the professional teaching certification.
Teachers who are currently employed without the certificate will have to go through training in order to be certified. TSC further warned that teachers who do not perform as expected or abide by the professional code of conduct will risk losing their license of practice.
