Speaker wants Sonko probed for ‘assaulting’ officer

Nairobi - Capital News reports that following the allegations that Makadara MP Gideon Mbuvi alias Sonko assaulted a senior parliamentary official, the Speaker of the National Assembly Kenneth Marende is calling for prompt investigation into the matter.
In a media statement, Marende said that he is fully aware of the accusations made against Sonko by the senior parliamentary security officer.
Marenede went on to add that the said Senior Sergeant-at-Arms is alleged to have been assaulted and recorded a statement at the Parliament Police Station on 11th October, 2012 under Occurrence Book entry number 21, and that the matter is being investigated.
