Sonko caught out in Mandela photoshop mishap

13 December 2013, 10:16

Nairobi Nairobi senator Mike Mbuvi' Sonko' found himself in hot water on social media after a photo he shared portraying him hugging former South African president Nelson Mandela was found to be a hoax.

In a report on the Telegraph the picture which Sonko posed on his Facebook wall last Friday was apparently a photo-shopped one, with the original of the same photo being one of Mandela sharing a moment with boxing legend Muhammad Ali.

The photo eventually found itself shared over 700 times on Facebook and served up varying comments from Kenyans, some who thought it was funny with others taking it distastefully.
