Singapore delegation tours Nairobi this week

02 June 2014, 17:43

Nairobi - Singapore Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs, Masagos Zulkifli, will this week visit Kenya to meet several political leaders and senior government officials from a number of sectors.

Chief among these the aviation, port and energy industries.

The meeting will explore ways to expand Singapore’s cooperation as well as on developments in Sub-Saharan Africa.

A business delegation which is exploring trade and investment opportunities in Kenya will accompany Zulkifli.

The delegation comprises representatives from 17 Singaporean companies, such as Hyflux, PSA, ST Electronics and Pacific International Lines.

Zulkifli will deliver keynote addresses at two separate business seminars organised by the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) in Nairobi as well as meet Singaporeans who are based in the city.

On Wednesday, he will also witness the signing of two Memorandums of Understanding between SBF and the Kenyan Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA), and between Vector Scorecard Asia-Pacific (Pte Ltd), a Singapore company that provides business solutions and consultancy services, and KEPSA in Nairobi.

During the tour, Singapore’s Non-Resident High Commissioner to Kenya, Yatiman Yusof, and Ministry of State for Foreign Affairs officials will accompany him.

The delegation will also visit Tanzania later this week.
