Shebesh formally withdraws case against Kidero

Nairobi - Nairobi Woman Representative, Rachael Shebesh, formally withdrew an assault case she had filed against Governor Evans Kidero on Tuesday.
Shebesh said Kidero had also withdrawn charges against her, and they were now waiting for further direction from the Director of Public Prosecution, Keriako Tobiko, The Standardreports.
She said she took long to sign the papers because of legal process involved.
Kidero allegedly slapped Shebesh on September 6, 2013, when she joined Nairobi City Council workers who were striking in storming his office at City Hall.
He later apologized to Shebesh following the incident but Shebesh preferred to press charges against him but later on forgave Kidero, who promised to keep on working with her.
Kidero ruled out the possibility of giving Shebesh cash money for forgiveness.
He said reconciliation couldn’t be bought with money and had hoped to solve the matter in a peaceful way to enable them to work together in serving the people of Nairobi.
