Nairobi - Seven people have been killed by what is suspected to be the consumption of illicit brew in Nandi, the Daily Nation reports.
The seven have been reported killed after they consumed the drink in Nandi Central Thursday and it is said they died in different areas of the county which will cause alarm as it is bound to have been consumed by many more people.
According to the report, among the dead is an assistant chief, a public health officer as well as a teacher.
The bodies are currently lying at the Kapsabet hospital mortuary where autopsies are being carried out to confirm the exact cause of the deaths.
The deaths will bring focus to the efforts by government to stop the spread of illicit brew in the country.
In June, nearly 100 people died from the consumption of the brew in Eastern and Central provinces.
