Nairobi - Three Cabinet Secretaries are expected to appear before a Senate committee probing President Uhuru Kenyatta’s cancelled trip to the United States.
The three, Amina Mohammed (Foreign Affairs), Raychelle Omamo (Defence) and Joseph Nkaissery (Internal) will appear before the Committee on National Security and Foreign Relations to answer to committee’s queries regarding the trip that was cancelled last week Thursday.
The probe was launched after senators raised a number of questions regarding the planning of the trip and the President’s safety, Daily Nation reports.
The senators said the cancellation of the trip was a big embarrassment to the President and Kenya as a nation and called for disciplinary measures to be taken against officers who failed to apply measures to avoid such an experience.
