Nairobi - The Ministry of Interior on Friday morning dispatched over 80 armed security officers to St. Paul's university following a security threat the institution received, during their graduation function.
The threat came on the heels of the shooting of Mombasa based muslim cleric Sheikh Ibrahim Rogo, on Thursday evening, which has put the coastal town on high alert, with fears of protests the like that rocked the town after Sheikh Aboud Rogo Mohamed was killed August 27 last year.
Already security forces across Kenya were on high alert following the September 21st Westgate Mall Attack by Al-Shabaab that killed over 67 and injured scores.
However the ministry through their official Twitter account, were quick to reassure members of the public that all was well at the graduation function at St. Paul's graduation and security personnel were on alert and carrying out security checks.
