Security equipment to cost KES 4bn annually

Nairobi - Treasury has been directed to set aside KES 4 billion annually for the purchase of police gadgets to step-up security in the country.
According to The Star, President Uhuru Kenyatta said there is need to contain insecurity in the country and the money should start being set aside from this financial year.
Uhuru ordered for the formation of a special team comprising officials from Treasury, police and the Office of the President to identify the equipment required and to manage the procurement process.
