The Hague - The second witness in Deputy President William Ruto's case described him as a key figure in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party during the 2007 election campaigns.
According to witness 326, who testified in an open session, but with his face blurred and voice distorted to conceal his identity, Ruto used coded and degraded language during campaign rallies in Rift Valley, Daily Nation reports.
He said ODM gave Ruto the mandate to spearhead its campaigns in Rift Valley and spread its message of equal distribution of resources, especially land, if it won the election.
