Eldoret - The mystery surrounding the disappearance of Meshack Yebei took a new twist following reports that a man resembling him had been spotted in the outskirts of Eldoret town.
Some boda boda riders in Kiplombe claimed that they saw a person resembling Yebei in the area, and even carried him on their motorbikes.
They led his family members to a house where he was said to have been seen, but he was not there, The Standard reported.
Their hopes to find their loved one diminished when neighbours said they had not seen Yebei and that one has ever visited the house since the family left for Christmas.

They called on the government to help them in the search for Yebei.
Yebei was declared dead at the beginning of the year after police called his family to inform them that a body that resembled his had been found in a thicket along the river Yala in Nandi Hills.
However, DNA results of the body thought to be his showed he was not the one.
According to police officers handling the case, 99 percent of the results showed that the body belonged to Yusuf Hussein, who his family members said disappeared on 25 December, 2014.
Yusuf was later buried by his family members.
